1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Kookini ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Kookini is a mobile application that allows users to:

• Import recipes from URLs, photos, and voice recordings
• Store and organize recipes locally on their device
• Create weekly meal plans
• Build shopping lists from meal plans or recipes
• Use AI-powered features to parse and extract recipe information

3. User Responsibilities

As a user of Kookini, you agree to:

• Use the App for lawful purposes only
• Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Not use the App to infringe upon intellectual property rights of others
• Not use the App to distribute malicious content
• Take responsibility for backing up your recipe data

4. Intellectual Property

App Ownership

Kookini and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

User Content

You retain all rights to recipes, meal plans, and other content you create or import using the App. We do not claim ownership over your content.

Third-Party Content

Recipes imported from third-party websites are subject to the original website's terms and copyright. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to import and use such content.

5. AI Processing

Our AI features process recipe data to extract structured information. By using these features:

• You acknowledge that AI processing may not be 100% accurate
• You agree to review and verify AI-extracted information
• You understand that URL/page content, OCR text, and voice transcripts are sent to our AI service for processing; photos may be sent only if on-device OCR parsing fails
• You consent to the temporary processing of your data for AI features

6. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

• The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
• The results obtained from using the App will be accurate or reliable
• The quality of any recipes, meal plans, or shopping lists will meet your expectations
• Any errors in the App will be corrected

8. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of profits, data, or use
• Cost of procurement of substitute goods or services
• Personal injury or property damage
• Any damages arising from food preparation or consumption based on recipes in the App

9. Food Safety Disclaimer

Kookini is a recipe management tool and does not provide food safety advice. You are responsible for:

• Ensuring proper food handling and preparation
• Checking for food allergies and dietary restrictions
• Following safe cooking temperatures and practices
• Consulting qualified professionals for specific dietary needs

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease. If you wish to terminate your account, you may simply discontinue using the App and delete it from your device.

11. Subscriptions

Kookini offers an auto-renewable monthly subscription ("Premium Subscription") that unlocks unlimited recipe storage and AI-powered imports.

• Billing: Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase.
• Auto-Renewal: The subscription automatically renews unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Account Charge: Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Cancellation: You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device.
• Free Tier: Without a subscription, you can save up to 6 recipes. Your 6 oldest recipes remain accessible if your subscription lapses; newer recipes are locked until you resubscribe. Meal planning and shopping list features remain free.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
